Two Ogun East Senatorial District Monarchs have expressed support for Kasamu Gubernatorial bid as they described him as their beloved son.
The endorsement Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Senator Buruji Kashamu followed the visit of Senator Buruji Kasamu to the palaces of the Monarchs.
Two traditional rulers – the Lamodi of Ijebu-Isiwo, His Royal Highness, Oba Sikiru Adedoyin and the Aladeken of Oke-Ako, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Area, His Royal Highness, Oba Joshua Osunsami (J.P) – who spoke on Thursday when Senator Kashamu visited them at their palaces, commended him for having the foresight to put his key policies and programmes in an understaking which he had been giving to all traditional rulers in the state.
In the undertaking, which he elaborated on, Kashamu promised to allow local governments to enjoy full financial autonomy without deducting from their monthly allocations.
This, he said, would engender grassroots developments.
Kasamu also said that he was committed to addressing the issues of cooperative deductions and contributory pensions without a view to allowing the will of the workers to prevail.
The candidate also said Micro Small Medium Scale Enterprises (MSMSEs) would be encouraged to thrive through the facilitation of microfinance and community banks that would advance revolving facilities to entrepreneurs at zero interest rate.
Speaking at the palace of the Lamodi of Ijebu-Isiwo,Oba Adedoyin, Kashamu said if elected he would fix the major road leading to the town.
In his remarks, Oba Osunsami said, “Kashamu had shown time and again that he was truly a proud son of Ijebuland. Others have been here but none spoke like this or brought any undertaking to hold him by.
You, Kashamu, are our beloved son in whom we are well pleased.”
Speaking earlier, Oba Adedoyin said with Kashamu’s plans for the grassroots and traditional institutions which he had documented, it was incumbent on all to support him.
The candidate was accompanied on the trips by notable PDP leaders in Ijebu-Ode Local Government, including Chief Ade Alatishe and Alhaji Bisi Quadri, among others.
