Culture and Tourism has been identified as a way of improving the socio-economic development of any country.

The New York Coordinator of Afromedia international, Dr. Zent Kunle Sowunmi who made this known on Tuesday in Abeokuta while paying a courtesy visit to the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo said, the City of Dallas in Texas, United States of America would partner the Egba Kingdom of Ogun State, Nigeria on cultural and tourism development.
Dr. Sowumi who led a 7-man delegation of American-based Nigerians to the Ake Palace ground, emphasized that the Egbaland shared many similarities with city of Dallas in America, stressing that, the ancient city of Abeokuta would greatly benefited from the synergy arrangement with the U.S government.
The Afromedia publisher therefore, sought for the approval of the Royal father to enable his team establish a tourism attraction Centre in the three local governments areas of Abeokuta. They are; Abeokuta South local government, Abeokuta South-East and Abeokuta Southwest LCDAs.
According to him, the people and residents of these three local governments would be the direct beneficiaries when river Ogun, traversing the entire Egbaland, start to be the most attractive tourist center in the region.
Also speaking at the occasion, Editor in Chief of Afromedia international, Dr. Idris Olagoke Badmus opined that, Africa can become dependent, if its leaders could harness their natural resources potentials for tourism and viable economy activities.
Dr. Badmus added that, Abeokuta had unbelievable potentials than the mad rush for oil in Ogun River, if the custodian of the town cultures could exploit its great advantages.
Dr. Badmus, disclosed that the African Drum of Unity would be placed in the most suitable location in the city of Dallas with the concurrence of the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun and the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, after which both the Mayor of Dallas City and his Deputy will visit both the governor and the Egba monarch to cement the unity and friendship between Abeokuta and the City of Dallas.
While responding, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Dr. Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo commended the group for their concerted efforts aimed at providing mutual and beneficial relationship between Abeokuta and Dallas City by the Afromedia International Group.
The Alake assured the group that Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State had always been in the vanguard of the State of act development for Abeokuta, the State capital for all Ogun State indigenes and residents in Abeokuta.
He therefore called on the three chairmen of the local government and LCDAs to fully cooperate with the Afromedia Group in realizing these dream.

Alake noted that Dallas city is already well developed and the benefits which Abeokuta will derive from the partnership would be limitless.
He explained that unlike in other businesses where only the investors were the beneficiary, tourism through his many allied entertainment and economic activities, makes everybody a winner.
The Alake however commended the Ogun State governor for implementing many infrastructures such as international standard roads in Abeokuta and elsewhere.
