Ogun State Head of Service, Alhaja Selimot Ottun has enjoined the retiring Principal of Ositelu Memorial College, Ogere Remo, Mrs. Oyeyinka Ogunnowo to use the vast experiences garnered in the last 35 years from the Teaching Service Commission, for the good and progress of the community and State in general.
Alhaja Otun advised at a reception held in honour of Mrs. Ogunnowo, saying the zeal, loyalty, diligence and determination displayed by the retiring principal have not gone unnoticed.
‘’Your retirement from service is ushering you into a more active larger public service, which can be referred to as ‘community service’, hence, the experience, training, exposure and maturity must be brought to bear for effective public administration and wellbeing of the people at large,’” Ottun said.
She appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for being workers-friendly and the creation of a conducive environment for civil servants to discharge their duties efficiently.
Alhaja Otun prayed to God to grant the retiree long life and sound health to enjoy the fruits of her labour.
In his welcome address, the Vice Principal, Ositelu Memorial College, Ogere Remo, Mr. Sunday Adegoke described the retiring principal as an amiable and exceptional woman.
According to him, God had helped her to reach the peak of her career, saying her selfless leadership among all teaching and non-teaching members of staff has taken the school to greater heights.
Responding, the outgoing Principal, who was full of gratitude to God for sparing her life till her retirement, admonished other civil servants to strive to do the right things at the right time.
