Public and private medical practitioners have pledged their support to Ogun State Government in its efforts at riding the State of fake doctors and substandard health facilities.
The State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Babatunde Ipaye, who disclosed this while receiving a vehicle donated by the Association of General and Private Medical Practitioners of Nigeria (AGPMPN), Ogun State Chapter, said the medical practitioners have seen the need to cleanse the system, hence their resolve to partner the State government to address the menace.
The Commissioner assured that no area in the State would be left unmonitored, adding that monitoring exercise would be intensified, particularly in border areas, with heavy population.
He also disclosed that the list of registered authentic health facilities in the State would soon be published on the Ogun State Government Website, to enlighten citizens on the appropriate facilities to patronise.
‘’Fighting quackery is a continuous process because the quacks are economic saboteurs and they want to reap where they have not sown. We have done our bit by pushing many of them out of our space. My expectation is that this would continue”, The Commissioner said.
On his part, the Chairman of the Association, Dr. Kushimo Rabiu, while appreciating the State government for its laudable stride in the development of the health sector, stated that the vehicle was donated to complement government efforts at ridding quackery in the State.
