The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has reassured the Ogun State League of Imams and Alfas that the Government would not unnecessarily be hurried into setting up another Muslims Welfare Board.
Prince Dapo Abiodun, who was responding to the call made by the Wakilu Musulumi of Yoruba, Edo and Delta States, Sheikh Iskeel Sugar, on a new Board to being set up to replace the current one and choose new Board members.
The Governor informed the Wakilu Musulumi and members of the League of Imams and Alfas that, the State Government was a well organised system, that did it’s homework all the time and was not in a hurry to just make a change for it’s own sake.
He noted that, he would follow the right and fair steps in the exercise of choosing new members, including consulting all the Stakeholders including the League, whenever, it was ready to constitute a new Board.
Prince Abiodun also warned members of the organization not to be taking undue advantage to advance their personal interests, but rather exhibit collective motive
The Governor reassured the Muslim Clerics that the Government would consult them and come out with a fair and just Welfare Board.
