A wife of Juju Maestro, ‘King Sunny Ade,’ Dr. Mrs. Abosede Adegeye has pledged her commitment in ensuring that, Amazon Foundation stood firm in the continuity of its mission of rendering humanitarian support to the less privileged in the Africa and its communities.
Dr. (Mrs.) Adegeye disclosed this during the Foundation’s courtesy call on the Alake and Paramount ruler of Egbaland at the Ake Palace on Thursday, 31st of March, 2022.
She noted that Amazon Foundation was founded 18 years ago in United Kingdom with three basic missions, which were HELP, ICON and HISTORY.
She explained further that, the Foundation had been helping the less privileges with feeding, housing, payment of school fees and a lot of things.
She added that, in terms of Icons, they would select an Icon, pay him or her a visit, ask questions from them, laugh with them, have fun with them throughout the day and also give them the little they could offer.
Speaking on History aspect, Dr. (Mrs.) Adekeye reiterated that, they had been going around learning about cultures and traditions in Africa, adding that, they had been to Ghana to learn about their cultures and now they were in Ogun State.
According to her, the foundation had been involved in series of big and small projects, which one of the big projects they had, was a 20 million naira project on a patient who needed medical attention and the project was initially shared among the members before it was extended to individuals outside the group.
In his remark, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo encouraged the Foundation to do more and be consistent in its mission of rendering moral, financial and educational support to the development of Africa as a whole.
Oba Gbadebo therefore recommended an Icon for them to visit and celebrate, which was in person of Prince Anthony Olajumo, a 93 year old man who had served Nigeria in many ways
