Workers in Ogun State have been enjoined to take cognizance of their health through regular medical checkups to know their status, in order to prevent complications or early death.
A Private Dietician, Pastor Taiwo Babatope, gave the admonition while addressing Information Officers during their weekly statutory meeting at the Governor’s Office Press Centre, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying “it is essential you know your health status and consult a dietician to ensure healthy living”.
Babatope advised them to always visit certified medical facility for checkups instead of acting on general health talk that may not be beneficial to their health status, enjoining everyone to avoid fatty meat and highly processed foods.
While shedding light on genotype and blood group, he explained that each individual with their blood groups have different types of foods they can eat, noting that some foods are beneficial, neutral and detrimental, while many people do not know what and how to eat, as well as when to eat for healthy living.
The Dietician added that most diabetic and hypertensive patients discover their status too late, saying necessary medical assistance should be sought early to prevent untimely death.
