A don and Vice-Chancellor, Trinity University, Lagos, Prof. Charles Ayo, on Tuesday, congratulated the former Minister of Finance for her emergence as the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).
Prof. Ayo in a chat with journalists in Otta, Ogun State described her emergence as WTO DG as heartwarming being the first female and pioneer African to attain the exalted position.
He tasked leaders in the country to work hard and create a robust environment for all Nigerians irrespective of status to excel both locally and globally.
According to him, the revitalisation of the education system would promote innovation that will relaunch the country back to an international reckoning for global impacts.
Stressing that her emergence portends positive signs for Nigeria and Africa, the Trinity University VC expressed the conviction that Iweala would not fail as an accomplished economist.
He added: “Nigerians are intelligent and no pushovers in their fields of endeavour.”
