The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, His Majesty, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, has commended new Osi of Egbaland, High Chief AbdulHakeem Olabode Mustapha for his patience, commitment and a good focus on a worthy cause.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo made the observation while receiving in audience, Chief Bode Mustapha and his entourage, at the Ake Palace today.
The Alake said that Chief Bode Mustapha was an embodiment of quality and adroit community leadership and as an excellent administrator, his cognate experiences would be beneficial to his people.
The Alake noted that Chief Bode Mustapha had been in the race to succeed the immediate past Osi, Chief Sobande, who was in that position for 51 years.
He recalled that the Bobagunwa Egba, Bode Mustapha, formally applied for the post nine years ago, to which he automatically gave his royal consent, adding that, for one reason or another, the Government’s formal approval was late in coming.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo therefore commended the new Osi for his perseverance and commitment for that worthy cause of Gbagura exalted position within the Egba Nation.
The Alake prayed that the new Osi would use his new position to the benefit of Gbagura, Egbaland and humanity even longer than late Chief Sobande’s more than half a century as the Osi Egba.
In his response, the Osi of Egbaland, High Chief Bode Mustapha, disclosed that he and his entourage had come to appreciate the Apex Egba Monarch for his proverbial excellent leadership of Egbaland.
Chief Bode Mustapha said that he, his family and the entire good people of Gbagura, would ever be grateful to the Alake for always standing by justice and fairness in all his endeavours adding that the good relationship between the Alake and Gbagura on one hand and those among all the Sections of Egbaland, would continue to wax stronger for the mutual benefits of the Egba Nation.
Chief Bode Mustapha who would turn 71 on 13th March, 2021, would celebrate the traditional rites as part of activities marking the his birthday on that day.
The New Osi Egba’s entourage included former Commissioner for Sports, Chief Bukola Olapade, the GbagbaAje of Egbaland and IyaOba of Gbagura, Chief Teju Adenekan Bakre, and the Balogun Ira, Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye.
Chief Bode Mustapha also introduced the Committee that would arrange his inauguration as follows; Chief Bukola Olopade – Chairman, Chief Mrs Tejumade Adenekan, Chief Niyi Salako, Chief Akindele Jumoke, Mr Olumide Mustapha, SA to governor Legal, Mr. Lanre Oyebola Sodipo, Anifat Ore-Sulaiman, MR. Victor Alaba Ganzallo and Mr. Ifekayode Akinbode, Consultant to governor on Media.
The Egba High Chiefs present at the occasion included Balogun Sikirullah Atobatele, Aro-Egba Oluyika Kufiile, Seriki Tosin Fadare, Aare Ganiu Babayeju, Bantun Kehinde Sofenwa, and Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode.
